Anthropic’s Claude Tag is learning your company, one Slack message at a time
Anthropic introduces Claude Tag, an AI teammate living in Slack, designed to learn and contribute to company communications. This tool enhances collaboration by providing persistent context and memory, making AI interaction feel more like working with a human colleague.
Anthropic has launched Claude Tag, a new AI service integrated directly into Slack. This "always-on Claude" acts as an AI teammate, capable of providing insights, assigning tasks, and learning from ongoing conversations in real-time. It aims to streamline workflows and enhance collaboration within organizations.
Claude Tag builds on existing integrations by offering persistent context and memory. Unlike previous tools, it continuously learns about the company's operations by following channel discussions. This allows Claude to gather facts from various organizational channels, provided it has the necessary permissions, ensuring a deeper understanding of the work environment.
One of Claude Tag's key features is its ability for a single Claude identity to be accessed by everyone in a Slack channel. This transparency allows team members to see Claude's progress and seamlessly pick up conversations. System administrators control Claude's access to tools, information, and channels, ensuring that each AI instance remains scoped to its designated functional area, preventing information crossover between departments like legal and engineering.
Claude Tag can break down assigned tasks into stages and execute them using its available tools, posting updates in Slack threads. It also includes an ambient mode that proactively offers updates, flags important information, and follows up on forgotten tasks, making it feel like a truly integrated and proactive team member.

What AI Readiness Really Means and How It Applies to APIs
AI readiness is crucial for organizations to effectively integrate and scale artificial intelligence, moving beyond isolated proofs of concept to secure, system-wide AI integration. This requires a holistic diagnostic approach, addressing both technical foundations like data quality and organizational aspects such as strategy alignment and workforce development. Critical to this readiness are APIs, which must evolve from human-readable interfaces to machine-consumable ones, enabling AI agents to interact safely and robustly with existing systems.
