Respond.io, a Malaysian company specializing in AI agent-powered customer conversation management, has secured $62.5 million in Series B funding. The company plans to use this capital for hiring, organic expansion, and strategic acquisitions, aiming to strengthen its presence in key markets.
Respond.io, a Malaysian firm founded in 2017, has successfully raised $62.5 million in a Series B funding round. The company specializes in customer conversation management software, utilizing AI agents to automate interactions across various messaging channels like WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok.
This new capital infusion, led by Camber Partners with participation from Endeavor Catalyst and existing investors, will fuel Respond.io's strategic growth. The company aims to expand its team, drive organic market penetration, and pursue acquisitions, particularly in Europe and North America.
Respond.io's platform serves mid- to large-sized B2C businesses in sectors requiring high customer interaction, such as healthcare and automotive. Its proprietary AI agents handle high volumes of inquiries, qualify leads, and close sales efficiently.
The company's revenue model, which charges based on conversation volume rather than per user, differentiates it from competitors. This approach, coupled with its "data flywheel" of continuous AI improvement through message data, has contributed to its rapid growth and profitability.
Despite the rise of generic AI tools, Respond.io's CEO, Gerardo Salandra, is confident in the company's strong position. He believes their early start and robust foundation enable them to offer superior AI solutions in the messaging space compared to newer entrants.
