Plaud says its software business topped $100M in ARR after shipping over 2M AI notetakers

Plaud, a company specializing in AI notetakers, has achieved over $100 million in annualized recurring revenue (ARR) from its software business. This success follows the shipment of more than 2 million AI-powered notetaking devices, demonstrating a strong market validation for their hardware-software integrated approach.

Plaud has announced its software business has surpassed $100 million in annualized recurring revenue (ARR). This achievement is attributed to the success of its AI-powered notetakers, with over 2 million devices shipped to date.

The company's strategy targets professionals in high-meeting environments, offering devices like the Plaud Pin and credit-card-style gadgets. These screen-free devices aim to facilitate real-life conversations and later provide summaries and action items, contrasting with traditional AI companies that focus on digital documents and typed prompts.

Nathan Xu, co-founder and CEO of Plaud, emphasized their unique approach: "Most AI companies have scaled through software behind a screen. We took a different path. The conversations that actually move things forward don't happen on a keyboard. We built the interface for the post-screen world. And the market validated it."

Beyond hardware, Plaud has expanded its software offerings. This includes a desktop app for taking Granola-style notes from system audio during online meetings and Plaud Teams, introduced last month to target enterprises with shared memory features. While users receive 300 free transcription minutes with hardware purchase, nearly 50% upgrade to pro or unlimited plans, driving significant revenue. Plaud currently does not offer standalone software subscriptions.
